Requirements for India:
India has a minimum requirement of a current Rabies and C7/F4 Vaccination for dogs and cats. If you require current vaccination to enter India please speak to our Pet Travel Consultants as to the timeline required prior to export.

Microchip Implanted prior to vaccinations

Rabies Vaccination given minimum 30 days but within 12 months prior to departure

C7 Vaccination [Lepto/Leishmaniasis] given minimum 30 days but within 12 months prior to departure

Internal and External Parasite Treatment done within 24 Hours of departure

Australian Government Export paperwork, final Veterinary inspection and Indian health certificate
Cat Requirements

Only 2 Pets per family are allowed to enter India. Families with more then 2 pets will have to apply for an Exception Ruling prior to booking additional pets to travel.

India considers ownership to be that of the owners passport. The same name must appear on all pet documentation.

Foreigners travelling with their pets to India require a Foreigners Regional Registration Officer permit [FRRO] in order to apply for the No Objection Certificate for import. Please allow adequate time for this paperwork to be completed or your export may be delayed.

Indian Quarantine has limited hours of operation. To be released same day pets are required to fly in Monday to Friday 5am-12pm through New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad or Kolkata. Public Holidays, weekends and out of hours will incur additional delays, boarding and fees.

The name and address of the owner in the country of origin and in the country of arrival (import) must be mentioned on the health certificate

The declaration from the owner that the dog/cat is bonafide pet with no commercial interest, gift and breeding purpose

Copy of airway bill/journey details of pet/Bill of entry with custom (If coming under cargo)

There may be additional paperwork requirements for foreigners and new residents to India such as Visas, Proof of Residence, Proof of Employment, Utility bills, contracts and marriage certificates.
Quarantine

All pets are examined by Quarantine officers upon landing in India. If there are no signs of illness and all paperwork is in order pets are free to be taken home the same day.

If there signs of illness pets will be moved to the Quarantine center for testing and boarding. Additional costs will be incurred and are payable at time of request by the Indian Quarantine center.
