Exporting your Pet to the USA

World-Class Hounds will take care of all your export requirements for America including Alaska and Guam.

If your pet is born in Australia or resided here continuously for over 6 months most US states and international airlines will not require your pet to be immunised against rabies prior to export.

 

World-Class Hounds will assist you in your travel plans and your final destination requirements for your pets within the USA.

Our Export Services Can Include:

  • Your dedicated Pet Travel Consultant will assist you through your entire export

  • A new IATA Approved Pet Travel Crate that we can arrange to be delivered to your home to help your pet acclimate prior to travel if desired

  • A full timeline and advice for Veterinary treatments and test required for your country of export

  • Arrangement of your Australian and International Permits, Government Health Certificates and Final Veterinary treatments

  • Boarding and lodgment of your pet on their international flight

  • The option for private Pet Taxi service for collection and drop off

Requirements for USA:

USA [Excluding Guam and Hawaii] only have a minimum requirement of a Rabies Vaccination for some import states and airlines. If you require Rabies vaccination to enter USA please speak to our Pet Travel Consultants as to the timeline required prior to export.

Dog Requirements

  • Microchip Implanted

  • Must be 6 months or over to enter USA and not have been in a 'high risk country' in the 6 months prior to arrival

  • Australian Government Export paperwork, final Veterinary inspection and health certificate

    • Optional - C3 Vaccination given minimum 14 days prior to departure

Cat Requirements

  • Microchip Implanted

  • Australian Government Export paperwork, final Veterinary inspection and health certificate

    • Optional - F3 Vaccination given minimum 14 days prior to departure

Commercial Pets - For resale or adoption

  • At least 6 months of age at time of entry into the United States

  • Examined by a licensed veterinarian in the country of export and found to be in good health and free of infectious disease, internal parasites, and external parasites.

  • Vaccinated for rabies by a licensed veterinarian at least 30 days before the date of entry into the United States.

    • Dogs must be at least 84 days of age at the time of vaccination.

  • Vaccinated for distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, and leptospirosis (DHLPP) within 12 months of entry into the United States

  • Accompanied by a health and rabies vaccination certificate issued in English by a veterinarian with a valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the country of export

  • Accompanied by a valid import permit issued by APHIS Animal Care
